02 / ROBOTICS · 2025
A robot that helps passengers find their way through an airport.

THE CHALLENGE
Unfamiliar terminals and time pressure can make airports difficult to navigate. AeroAssist explores how an approachable robot can connect passenger recognition with clear directions.
The prototype combines face recognition, conversational AI, a touchscreen, and physical gate-pointing.
HOW IT WORKS
Staff register a passenger and assign their gate through a kiosk.
The robot recognizes a registered passenger and greets them.
It points toward the gate and supports travel questions through its interface.
COLLABORATION
I worked as a team developer on the project, connecting practical software development with a robotics use case.
AeroAssist was created by Ali Majid, Ali Saadi, Khalid Abdulrahman, and Kozheen Hamza.
The project brought together computer vision, AI interaction, and physical guidance in a working academic prototype.
PROJECT PRESENTATION
Presented in 2025
A team project demonstrating how recognition, conversation, and robotic movement can work together to support passengers.
The prototype represents an academic demonstration, with further development needed for a real airport environment.
